After growing up in Rye, NY and attending Drexel University for finance, I worked for the next 20 years on the trading floors in the open outcry markets of the Philadelphia and later Chicago Mercantile Exchanges for HSBC with a CME seat in the emerging markets running the foreign currency futures and options executions desk, then executed Eurodollar options and later CME Globex electronic trades in all markets for HSBC. I had always been involved in building, racing, fabrication, and machinery and built a business building custom furniture for many of the 5000 people I worked shoulder to shoulder with (literally) on the trading floor.
Eventually Ellen and I decided to retire from HSBC, move to rural Clermont, GA and build a large workshop. Around 2005 I started buying machinery at auction to equip the new shop from the larger businesses that were closing in the face of the recession. The volume and price collapse of those assets presented a greater opportunity so rather than building furniture I began to rebuild and resell that machinery to those who left those larger companies to start their own businesses. This work continued while growing my own shop with CNC and CAD capability to make repairs and replacement parts that were either unavailable or more expensive to buy than make. During that time I have been in many hundreds of manufacturing plants, met, was inspired by, and collaborated on diverse projects with truly talented craftsman, artists, engineers and machinists that stretched my design capability to where I can use that experience to help others refine and optimize their product designs for efficient performance, ease of manufacture, and cost reduction.
With CAD tools and my contacts with job shops and contract manufacturers of the highest quality equipped with the latest machinery and automation available now we can rapidly prototype, iterate and then produce your new or redesigned and now more profitable product.
